Second-round pick Sean Smith worked with the Dolphins' first-team defense across from LCB Will Allen at OTAs Tuesday.
Smith, rewarded for prior solid play on the second team, moved ahead of fellow rook Vontae Davis and Eric Green. Green has long lacked consistency and Davis is very raw, so don't count out Smith as a Week 1 starter.

A very interesting note today about Dolphins CB Sean Smith, who went two picks after Sherrod Martin. I remember many were clamoring for him here in Pantherdom, and with Smith currently running as a starter and Martin running as our dime back, it's hard to say we made the right choice at this point.
But time, as they say, will tell.
