Cutler to the Bears
The Sun-Times is reporting that the Bears agreed to trade their No. 1 draft picks in 2009 and 2010, a No. 3 pick this year and Kyle Orton.
Damn that's a lot and tells us why the panthers where never going to try for Cutler. The bears just became an interesting team to watch while, well I haven't cared about the bronco's in years. What does this do to the panthers. Well it tells us that there are more teams out there with lots of picks for us to theoretically trade Peppers, but I'm not holding my breath.

They over traded for cutler.
that was WAYYY to much of a big gamble for Kyle Orton, i mean seriously….
your number 1 for this year AND next year plus you lose you number 3 this year, they must really think highly of cutler

Cutler is a good QB, and they've been QB searching for a while.
Now to find some WRs.

I don't know about that.
Now that they have a QB we’ll see the true value of the wideouts. Sometimes the wide receivers are only as good as the guy throwing to them.

Do me a favor, look at the bears draft history in the first round
theres a reason that us Bears fans aren’t crying about losing draft picks.

Is it just me or does it seem strange that other teams are going out and throwing big dollars at players (Haynesworth) and giving up draft picks like the Bears just did yet not a single team has gone after Peppers. This is a 4-time Pro-Bowler, 2-time All-Pro Team, 2002 Defensive Rookie of the Year, and has had double-digit sacks in all but 2 seasons. You’re telling me that the Bears, who do need a QB, will give up picks for a guy with a losing record and no playoff experience, but no team that needs defensive help will approach Peps agent about a trade, at least until he signs the tender.

Contract
I think the big different is two fold, one Peppers hasn’t signed his franchise contract so only his agent can talk to teams, and his agent doesn’t know what he’s going.

2007
kinda hurt Peppers. he also just turned 29, so it be a hard decision for a team to take a gamble on him.

At first blush it seems the Bears overpaid
But if they expect to win big in 2009 it was a bold move. They are now NFC contenders I bet. Of course we will have to see how it plays out on the field to determine how wise this move was.
It makes Peppers and his agent look stupid though
