Peppers Agent Issues Gag Order on Himself

Panthers DE Julius Peppers agent Mr. Carl Carey seems to think that talking to the media is now a bad idea. From Darin Gantt's blog this quote really cracks me up:

"Julius and I won't be commenting further until there is something in the works or not in the works, regarding his status," Carey wrote.  "When there is something more definitive, we will address it in the media. Until then, we won't be commenting."

So we must currently be in this third state that lies somewhere between "something in the works" and "something not in the works". I'm starting to like this guy just for his comedic element. So I guess he got to fluttering around these owner meetings and no one will talk to him for fear of another media leak and the resulting media distraction. Here's a definitive thought, Sign the Tender!

I'm sure Mr. Carey has a tough job at the moment. He's having to negotiate a contract for Julius "The Cats Meow" Peppers and a gaggle of schrewd NFL GM's and owners (those outside Wash DC and Oakland that is). Peppers wants to be the highest paid defender in the league and the Panthers want compensation equal to the best defender in the league. Let's see who blinks first.
