Panthers unrestricted free agent Mark Jones has agreed to terms with the Tennessee Titans, according to the Nashville City Paper. The Titans moved to secure him quickly after their free agent kick returner, Chris Carr, signed with Baltimore. The Panthers have several candidates to be their kickoff and punt returner next year, led by Ryne Robinson, who was injured last season. Others include Kenny Moore.

After watching the Panthers kick return game struggle for 2 seasons
Jones brought some stability. I’m not as confident that Ryne Robinson is the answer in this phase of the game but I imagine it is his job to lose in TC.

I think he can do it
A lot of Jone’s success was due to good blocking. I think giving Ryne the tapes of Jones will give him enough to work with, and Ryne is faster.
You're right, Ryne is faster
a lot faster, even. But Jones read his blocks extremely well, and always made good decisions. If he was a bit faster, he’d have taken two or three of those returns to the house. But he was always solid. I just don’t understand how we let that guy walk. I mean, we kept an extra kicker (!) in order to get those extra 7-10 yards per possession. Jones brought almost as much extra yardage, as compared to Ryne, with his returns. Keeping him around, at least to battle for the job in training camp, made a lot of sense to me.
Best of luck to him in Tennessee. I think they’ve got a keeper.

Jones did read his blocks well
made nice cuts and usually got a least a respectable return out of every return
