Goings Gets Short Shrift from History
Darin Gantt put out a good piece last night regarding the release of Nick Goings. Goings wasn't on my list, or any other list that I saw, of those in danger of being released. I know he's not a starter but I really didn't expect this. He will be missed on the team and all he has provided over the years.
We can hope, although I would doubt it, that they may resign him later in the off-season. Maybe they figure the could release him to get under the salary cap and then resign him later.
Anyway, check out Gantt's blog on Goings.

This was forced because of the Pep Franchise tag
If and when they trade him the Panthers would suddenly has the room to begin looking at FA. The trick is to get the trade done before any coveted FA’s get snapped up by other teams.
