Panthers News Nuggets from the Litter Box
I've been trying to come up with a catchy title for my Panther article round-ups other than "Article Round-up" or "Notes & Quotes". I always tend to lean towards humor hence the trial title above. What do you think? Do you get the visual? If you've never had an indoor cat (with litter box) you probably won't. If you have a suggestion for naming these types of posts that relate to ‘Panthers' I would love to hear it.
Now onward and upward!
- Let's start with an interview with former Panther LB Kevin Greene, who has taken a job as LB coach with Green Bay.
They're going to feel my competitive football fire," said Greene of the players he will oversee. "It's a natural thing. You can't hide that..."I'm going to coach the way I played the game."
Will that include head butting! I'll never forget seeing his wife reaching down from the front row in the stands and pounding on his pads to get him (and her) fired up before a game. Loved it!
- If you think the Panthers should cut LB Landon Johnson then Steve Reed points out that it can't happen at least until March.
- Adding yet another sign that DE Julius Peppers will not return to the Panthers his jersey's are now on the clearance rack! Who wants one now?
- Darin Gantt makes a good argument that we should not be worried about cap space. He has the numbers to back it up.
- You can find a couple positive blogger comments on new secondary coach Ron Milus here.
- You will find a lot of negative blogger comments on new LB coach Richard Smith here. I'm not going to rush to judgment on Smith until TC.
- And finally, here's a nice summary of which high profile FA's will be cut, tagged, traded or retained (which of course includes our own JP).
To show my appreciation for your continued visitation to CSR here's my favorite pic of upcoming Sports Illustrated cover model Bar Rafaeli. Gotta love a chic named 'Bar' who is Smoookin hottt!

One thing not mentioned lately
Torry Holt. How great would it be to bring him in across from smith. Now that his career is winding down a bit it might be really good for him to be placed as a number two reciever behind a guy who continually draws double teams in steve smith.
on a side note what does everyone think about pat white. with everyone using more and more trick plays and the wildcat. what about taking a chance on him as a qb/wr like seneca wallace is for seattle
Holt sounds like a good addition
if he can be had for a good price. Not sure about White, he played well in the Senior Bowl. The Panthers have never been one to be gimicky though so it may not be a realistic proposition. I like the way you think though, using him split out as the QB/WR in the wildcat.

What might have been
Torry would definitely a good addition and I’m sure we COULD have had him cheap with a hometown discount and the fact that he could have been reunited with his brother, but NO… we cut Terrence, so I would say the chances of Torry coming here now are slim to none unless we’re gonna pony up the big bucks (which once again slim to none)
Can you tell I’m stil a little bitter about them cutting Terrence go, although maybe that freed up a roster spot for Lloyd, who obviously was a great addition eraly in the season! If only he could learn to kick further when it’s cold.

I like it…not that your blogs are cat poop or anything.
Ron Burgundy: [Ron Burgundy is handed a salad with cat poop] I will not eat that.
Tino: You will eat that cat poop.
Ron Burgundy: I will not eat cat poop.
Tino: You will eat that cat poop before you talk about my city that way again.
Ron Burgundy: Fine, if I eat the cat poop, will you bring me a steak?
[he eats the cat poop]
Ron Burgundy: Oh, God.
Tino: Somebody get him a steak quick.
Ron Burgundy: I’ll eat the whole hunk of shit. I don’t care.
[he begins crying]
Anchorman
Will Ferrell plays Ron Burgundy, San Diego’s top rated newsman in the male dominated broadcasting of the 1970’s. I found it hilarious! A must see if you like comedy.
warning would be nice
Not that it would have been bad, but I was at home last night catching up on the news here, came in to read the comments and what do I find. What a picture. With my wife only a few feet away it sure made me jump.
Oh I guess I should say I think the title fits just fine.
You can always blame it on me ;)
Sorry about that, that’s an angle I didn’t consider. Shortly after I started this blog I was talking with the Cowboys blogger and I asked him if he featured the Cowgirls at any point, my thinking was that certainly he would and it would be well received. He said just the opposite, that he never puts up pictures of the cheerleaders or chics in general. It’s just not well received, that if dudes want that stuff they know here to find it and they come to the blog for football, period. Besides, women read the blogs too. I guess I’m learning that lesson as well. Point duly taken!!
