We Really Brought It Against the Bucs!

Oh, man... yesterday was a good win against the Bucs!  I felt that we came out ready to play;  we were energetic;  we played with pride;  we played with a purpose.

I'm proud of the way Matt Moore played - he really stepped in and did a killer job.  He made some great passes, protected the football, and gave us a level of leadership that kept our intensity pumpin' at a ridiculous degree.  Way to go, man.

Defensively, I felt that this was one of our better games.  They had some good numbers, but, in my opinion, stats don't win games, points do.  The key for us was to not let them score in the red zone.  And because we succeeded in doing that, we were able to keep them scoring a bunch of threes, instead of sixes.

Not only did we turn the red zone into a jail cell, but we locked down five interceptions, which is HUGE!  Anytime you have a +4 differential in the turnover battle, you can pretty much guarantee yourself a win.

Star-divide

I thought Jon Beason had a MONSTER game.  He had two interceptions, which were, without a doubt, absolute game-changers.  What can ya say...?  The man's good at what he does.  But, not only did Beason get the job done, the rest of the guys on the defensive line, as well as everyone on the offensive side, helped us collectively put something special together to bring home this win.

So we have the Patriots coming up next.  Foxborough is gonna bring us another tough game, but, by the time we arrive, we're gonna have practiced hard and studied some good film to prepare us for Tom Brady and Co.

No worries... we'll be ready ;-)

Great game, Chris!

You brought your A game, buddy. Nice hits.
I liked the blitzes you brought, and think they might keep Brady off balance. Good luck next game. They are vulnerable, as Miami showed yesterday. Tell Matt Moore if Chad Henne can do it, so can he.

Jon Beastmode was spotted...

But so was Chris Harrisment. Great game Chris! Give the whole D a high five for me, and make sure you guys all chip in and get Ron Meeks something nice for christmas, he is really improving the D with his schemes.

Great game guys!

You really stepped it up with your defensive effort and helped give Moore the confidence he needed to lead the offense to victory.

Outstanding work — now take that momentum to Foxboro — I want to see Brady cry again.

I love Tom Brady tears. Belichik tears are good too but a little rarer.

I don’t think Belichik is capable of producing tears. Only glowers and the occasional “My team is better than yours” smirk.

I think i saw a trickle of one when their perfect season was dashed at the superbowl. It was a joyous time indeed.

Yahoooo!!!!

I love a defensive blowout, especially when it’s over the Bucs! Best rivalry in the South in my opinion.

Great game, the D has really brought it all year.

Can’t wait to see some more punishment in Foxborough!

Chris, you guys were AWESOME

The defensive was amazing in every phase of the game and you personally kicked some major butt.

Your endzone interception was awesome too.

CH: "Defensively, I felt that this was one of our better games"

I think it’s fair to say this could be understatement of the season!!??

by PantherPaddy on Dec 7, 2009 12:05 PM EST reply actions

Understatement by far..

You guys simply played amazing. As you mentioned, Beason had a monster game but he’s not the only one. You can enjoy some of that credit yourself. You seriously harassed Freeman the entire day from just about every angle – I loved it! One play you’re rushing him in the back field, the next your picking his pass off – that had to be frustrating (for him) :). Props to Freeman, though, I believe it was you that got a hand on his arm and caused his pass to fall incomplete, then he offered a hand up. Sportsmanship is always nice to see – especially when we’re winning ha!

I was previously hoping for the best, Chris, but yesterday you guys proved if you can play like that for the rest of the season, we’re looking at 9-7.

I can’t wait to see Moore again – I think every game he’s going to be improving. And Tyrell Sutton! I’m high on that guy. Might have to go from Double Trouble to Triple Threat.

Overall: A++++

Double Trouble; we've got the best running backs in the NFL that never see the ball!

You’re the man Chris. Not only do you kick ass on the field you make time to talk to your fans and that’s really admirable.

by EyeSack on Dec 7, 2009 12:55 PM EST reply actions

beason and the defense

beason definitely got the job done, but five interceptions total meant the whole defense played well. i think this is the kind of defense peppers can dominate in when healthy, and he’ll sign to a long-term, less money per season contract. i wonder if beason is eventually gonna get suspended, though, for his arrest.

"Defense wins Championships"

Yesterday reminded us all why.

Great INT Chris, and great game all around.

Without you and the rest of the D Chris, this would’ve been a HUGE loss for us. But you guys arer amazing in the red zone and have been all year. Coach Meeks must really have you guys playing at the highest level you guys can attain.

Great game for yourself as well Chris. That INT along with the other five saved the game for us. Looking forward to a strong game next week.

FIRST EVER!!!

i think this is the first ever post on CSR where the guy posting the article posts a pic of himself making a great play during the game. i mean, i’ve posting some things, and if i had a pic of me making a play, it would be on here. CSR keeps getting better.

Great game Hitman

The INT was great anticipation and the hit on Freeman on the blitz was great.

Nice game all-around.

Very glad to hear this about our young QB:

He made some great passes, protected the football, and gave us a level of leadership that kept our intensity pumpin’ at a ridiculous degree.

A lot is made of Jake Delhomme’s leadership and how it makes him the best starter in Carolina. Maybe this will be the start of Moore leadership run in Carolina. If the defense feels it then the offense must as well.

You're the best Chris Harris

Just make sure you guys make quicker stops when you play New England this Sunday. They’re a much better team than the Bucs and I’m sure they will score more often than not when they’re in the red zone.

by SmithnCompany on Dec 7, 2009 6:59 PM EST reply actions

I'd like them to turn it one before the 20 too

But the Pats struggle in the redzone as well, KICK THEIR BUTTS ALL OVER THE FIELD. :) Great game Panthers, you da man Chris!

by Flowing Willow on Dec 8, 2009 2:25 AM EST up reply actions

turning it on before the 20 ain't our thang, yo

Keep in mind Meeks’ defensive scheme thrives on turnovers and preventing long touchdowns. As our opponents move into the red zone, it allows the defense to tighten up…our safeties don’t have to play as deeply in the cover 2, using the back of the end zone as an extra “defender.”

+1

But that also means an experienced, accurate QB like Brady is going to be hard to pick and thus test our limits. Going to be a great experience to see how we stack up coming off of such a great game.

Moore could have been even better, if Gross was still in

When he had a little time there in the 1st, he was spreading the ball around nicely. Unfortunately as the game progressed the o-line started to crumble. Having that deep threat makes a huge difference too!

We could match up nicely against the Pats.
