Why would you want to trade Sherrod Martin? Barring last weeks game (stats havent been updated @ ProFootballFocus.com yet) of Harris, Godfrey, and Martin, he leads in interceptions with half the snaps and QB’s have the lowest rating when throwing into his vicinity, only allowing a 42.9% completion rate. In 300 snaps he also only has 1 penalty that was off-set.
Considering he was a rookie filling in for an injury, I’ve been highly impressed with him.
Helpful reminder for James at seasons end: 2nd Rnd CSR Fan Draft Pick.
Yep.
Sherrod Martin is impressive. I like the idea of giving him some more time to develop behind Godfrey, but I definitely don’t want to see him used as trade bait.
We have good depth at that position, why not roll with it for a while?
Mostly I think we need to concentrate on keeping our good players rather than trading for other team’s players. With good QB play this team can go far.

If you're gonna call him a shitty CB,
you should know that he played at Safety when Godfrey was out and got 3 INTs.
Why do we need to sign Jason Kyle
seems like our backup LB did pretty well, especially Anderson
What exactly is wrong with J.J. Jansen? He screwed up once all year, and that was way back at the beginning of the season.
Also, Brayton is solid and reliable, especially for what we’re paying him.
Not to mention..
He truly enjoys playing in Carolina.

Braytons a good player
sure i’d like to see charles johnson start but brayton is a good player

1) Why would you want a rookie to wait behind a 2-year player.. (What would he wait for?.. most teams would look at him, say he had those 3 ints, and he’s 2nd rd pick and will like him, but you guys could be right.
2) Brayton is a good player, but I think that Brown should get more experience there.. Brayton’s not great but he’s good.. I actually like Brayton
3) Here is the difference from J.J. Jansen and Jason Kyle (im putting it at end of my list)
- Also go to charlotteobserver.com/sports they have an interesting change that the lack of CBA is gonna cause next year
JJ Jansen v. Jason Kyle
What about the flipside? Looking at John Carney in New Orleans he’s now kicking 76.5 FG% compared to 92.1 FG% last season.
So technically, for New Orleans’ kicker having Jason Kyle has resulted in a greater drop-off in his overall percentage than John Kasay has experienced going from Kyle to Jansen.

So You Try to Fix the problem
Either bring back Kyle or have lloyd try a couple, but 75 aint gonna cut it.
Your post is silly, but
I do like Shipley out of Texas. He is one of those players that is a baller but he will drop to the 2nd or 3rd round because teams won’t “look” smart when their “project” player with “potential” turns into a pro-bowler in 3 years. He is ready-made.
to elaborate...
Way too much is put into potential. Take the proven asset. GMs are often too concerned with their image as an executive—their legacy— which leads to some really stupid picks, at times. Some GMs want credit for finding that ‘diamond in the rough’ when they could have just drafted the college senior All-American that gets passed over due to ‘physical limitations.’ This will happen to Shipley (size-speed), Tebow (arm), that Stanford HB (breakaway speed), and other ‘physically limited’ skill players.
And don’t read into the fact that these guys are all Caucasian. There are plenty of examples from the last two years…and some of them are of other ethnicity…Ray Rice (size-speed), Mike Wallace (size), DeSaun Jackson (size-durability), Chris Johnson (every down back?).
The knocks on these guys (in parenthesis) are excuses so that these same GMs can draft the ‘projects’ that often turn into busts…kind of a feast or famine type of thing.
