Panthers Vs. Saints: Ups and Downs
Last Sundays game showed that the Panthers can stay in the game with most of the teams in the NFL. One thing about the game that I noticed was Jonathan Stewart. On a couple of his runs that I saw he started in one direction and had a couple people to block. But he ended up switching directions and running towards the group in the middle of the field. He looked hesitant and wasn't how he usually is. A power back that likes to hit people and punish them for getting in his way. He wasn't himself and I don't know if it was because of his ankle or what. DeAngelo Williams proved once again why he is our starter and a premiere runningback in the NFL. Dwayne Jarret showed promise in points of the game and it would have been nice for him to catch the 40 yard pass from Delhomme. I mean Marques Colston dropped passes left and right. So you can't say it is because he isn't any good. Stuff happens and the best he can do is keep trying. Jake Delhomme tried to take some chances and he did a pretty good job. I know he didn't do that well but the fact is he took chances without turning the ball over. So I was impressed by him. I think the Panther that showed the best improvement was Gary barnidge. He caught the balls that were thrown at him and he tried his best to get the extra yards. he had that one fumble but it was saved after it had gone out of bounds. With the loss of yet another key player I see another lossing season for this year. But the only thing that we can do is hope for a Great draft and try again next year.

Sutton was a pleasant surprise
though if think Davidson erred in going to him int he red zone. Brayton stepped up with his sack and FF to lead to the fast start.
Only 5 losses, this season isn’t over yet but agree that based on they way they are playing it is very unlikely to turn around and make a run.

Gary Barnidge showed me alot
He proved that he still does have a shot at being the all purpose TE we were hoping. After being buried by the better blocking King and the better catching Rosario he’s improved in both areas to become complete.
I like what I’m seeing.

He still misses a bunch of blocks on Special Teams
…especially on punt returns. And he’s nowhere near the effective, powerful blocker on the edge, like Jeff King is — but I agree, he’s finally developing into the receiving threat I thought he’d be when the season began. Looks like Jake is starting to trust him more often.

I wouldn't quite go so far as to suggest he's an "all-purpose guy"
Like bd, I still see him struggling in the run game.
Remember when the Panthers had a good offensive line? Yeah, me too.
