Panthers Peppers Has Super Secret Hand Injury

Typically in the NFL when a player gets hurt the specifics of the injury are detailed within a few days using such descriptors as sprain, strain, pull, aggravated, slight tear or even the dreaded broken. Usually I say, because sometimes a team just decides to not give details.

We know Panthers DE Julius Peppers left the Falcons game with an injured hand and returned sparingly. He played the following week against the Dolphins with his hand bandaged. Still no word on what specifically is wrong with his hand, just this:

Inside the Panthers: Fox still circumspect about Peppers' hand injury
"I could say," Fox said Friday after Peppers played mostly on passing downs in a 24-17 loss Thursday against the Miami Dolphins at Bank of America Stadium. "But I probably wouldn’t."

Fox is blazing new territory with his verbal 'no speak'. When exactly would he not say what the injury is? At some future press conference when he is asked about the injury...again? What about the interview he was actually in? Pondering this brought poetry to my finger tips...

So could you, would you, Mr. Fox?

Could you, would you, in a sky box?

Would you say whats wrong with Peppers hand?

Would you, could you John I am?

So here is my theory:

Star-divide

Peppers lost his hand in a light-saber duel with his long lost evil father and had to replace it with a bionic hand, hence the bandage and the lack of details. Just wait until he gets used to his new hand...he will be able to bitch slap LTs to the ground with a flick of the wrist! At a cool $5M he can afford it.

A less likely scenario...much less...is the Panthers don't want the competition to know how badly Peppers hand is injured because he plans to play as much as possible. Opposing players might try to aggravate it. I know that sounds extremely paranoid but hey...some people can't help but predict the impossible scenarios.

So will Peppers play more against the Jets? It usually takes a few weeks to break in a bionic hand but I expect his plays to increase this game but he won't be at 100% for another week or two.

So the mystery is solved!

Peppers: I’ll never join you! You sacked my father!

And of course, Darth Vader is actually Al Davis.

LOL!

That was seriously funny. I hadn’t expected to read of a light-saber duel. Thinking of Julius Peppers in a battle against Darth Vader… priceless!

In all seriousness, I do believe that hand injury has hurt us terribly. Even playing on passing downs, I don’t really believe it allows him to “get into” the game as if he was playing nearly every down, which causes his performance to suffer, imo.

Hmm....

Sounds like the are trying to simply cover it up but Peppers has been a non-factor for the past couple of games including the ATL game. Of course he did force a fumble one handed so many non-factor is alittle wrong in that regard.

Peppers I believe simply has a small stress facture but Fox is always been quiet about anybodies injuries unless they are clearly season or career threating.

Peppers should heal nicely with this break since we don’t play until 29th of Nov against another AFC East team that we should beat as well.

Jets are overrated and have been all season. We let the Bills beat us for no reason and Dolphins beat us fare and square so I will give them their just do.

Go Panthers.

I hope we play the first half jets and not the second half jets.

Concealing Injuries

So I’m thinking back to the beginning of the season. Wasn’t Mangenius fined for not disclosing Brett Favre’s injury? I think the fine was really high and I know for a fact the Organization was fined also. So with that being said, what makes Fox think he is “above the law”. Peppers is a phenominal athlete but hes too hurt to play let him rest and put in someone who is effective. I understand the whole presence factor, but if he’s too hurt to make his presence felt put someone in who is going to do something.
It’s the coaches job to protect players from themselves, I know he’s a competitor but if he’s going to play he sould be somewhat healthy. From a fans perspective if he’s hurt just say so, he’s my favorite player, and I hate to see him sitting on the bench with two tackles, and a million dollar smile (excuse me a 1.17 million dollar smile).

Simple economics...

Haha, that was a funny article! Seriously though, at $1mil/game I don’t see Fox letting Peppers off the field for ANY inury short of his head being knocked off – he is the Panther’s equivalent to the Black Knight in “Monty Python’s Quest for the Holy Grail” – “Just a flesh wound! Come over here, I’ll nibble ya!”
