A Fantasy Call To Arms! (Um, help?)
Perhaps you guys can help me out this week.. My fantasy team has to be solid this week to even think of winning but the match-ups are tough! I've fought back from an 0-3 start (Thanks to DeAngelo for finally producing) to go 3-4 but reaching .500 looks like a long-shot!
My roster is as follows: (starters in bold) QB: Kurt Warner; Matt Hasselbeck WR: Miles Austin; Mike Sims-Walker; Sidney Rice; Steve Smith (NYG); Mario Manningham RB: DeAngelo Williams; Ahmad Bradshaw; Shonn Green; Cedric Benson(Bye) TE: Antonio Gates; Benjamin Watson(Bye) K: John Carney DEF: Miami; Pittsburgh(Bye) I read James' prognosis stating that he thinks Arizona's passing attack betters Carolina's pass D, so I just hope this ends up being a shoot-out between Warner's arm and Williams' legs. I've benched both Giants' receivers due to their Philly match-up in favor of Austin/Seattle, Sims-Walker/Tennessee, and Rice/Green Bay. I've been extremely lucky with my receiving corps thus far as none of them were big name receivers, yet four of them rank in our top 15 @ WR (Sims-Walker ends up at #18). Williams @ Arizona really concerns me. I know he's either going to produce big numbers or next to nothing, and that's exactly what could cost me the game. I find it hard to bench him... if I knew Davidson wasn't as stupid as he has proven himself to be, I wouldn't have any fear rolling with Williams, but I can see them ditching the run early if there are any signs of it not working extremely well. Bradshaw also worries me against Philly as I see him getting few carries after last week but I don't think it's wise to start Green over him while he's still backing up Thomas Jones. That would also be along the lines of shooting myself in the foot being I'm stuck with the Miami D this week. Antonio Gates and Carney have both done well for me this season. I hope Miami from the first half of last week shows up for both halves of this week. It's a 10 team, standard league. All FA options seem to be exhausted. I think I've got a team capable of winning, it's just going to be crucial to make the right start & sit calls. Any advice?

Personally, I’ve never been one to bench for specific matchups. I find it hard to justify sitting Steve Smith (NYG) despite the Giants playing Philly.

yeah but right now
You definately can’t bench Miles Austin or Sidney Rice so your dilemma is which NYG receiver do I start? or do i start Mike Sims-Walker in a great matchup against Tennessee?
I think you start Sims-Walker.
QB- Kurt Warner
RB1- D-Lo
RB2- Shonn Greene
WR1- Miles Austin
WR2- Sidney Rice
WR3- Mike Sims-Walker
TE- Antonio Gates
K- any shmuck who can kick
DEF- Anyone playing a weak offense

Personally, I’d start Steve Smith over Sims-Walker… but that’s just me.

I sat DeSean Jackson over Sidney Rice this past week...
Ooops, 31 pts vs 13 pts…lol Doesn’t matter, I’m winning this FF league… =)
I have six locks on my door all in a row. When I go out, I only lock every other one. I figure no matter how long somebody stands there picking the locks, they are always locking three.

Sims-Walker and Smith has really been the tough call I’ve been debating since Sunday nights game came to an end.
I know Sims-Walker has a favorable match up but at the same time, I know the Giants aren’t going to go scoreless and I would assume Smith to be the go to guy.
Hakeem Nicks makes me second guess myself, though. With each receiver having 4 touchdowns, it’s a bit hard to try and predict which one finds the end zone.
Sims-Walker, on the other hand, appears to be Garrard’s favorite end zone target. Oh man, I wish I could just bench Bradshaw and play another WR!
Decisions, decisions! haha
Thank you guys for sharing your thoughts, I figure it’s better to get the opinions of some people I know know their game versus somewhere where, well, they might not! lol – thanks again!

Sims-Walker is a must start
Tennessee is atrocious versus the pass, and Sims-Walker will get numbers unless he is suspended again. Good luck this week, I’m rolling with D-Will this week too, but I got Slaton, Rivers, Driver, and White. : )

Update: Bradshaw made the RB decision easy with a foot injury.. not severe but enough for me to bench him.
By the way… how in the heck did I not realize my post was a big jumbled mess! I swear I blame Chrome! lol – well, thanks to the people that took the time to actually decipher that block of gumbo! I hadn’t realized the paragraphs disappeared on me again.

Why the crap would you use Chrome in the first place?
Firefox is faster, more stable, and more versatile.
Remember when the Panthers had a good offensive line? Yeah, me too.

Once I tried Chrome, I could never return to Firefox… I’m capable of clicking on Firefox, then opening three chrome pages before Firefox loads up… 8 when compared to IE.
I love its minimal design, which was surprising to me considering I used to use Avant before Firefox. I’ve stuck with Chrome since its release.

Got murdered.
Every player (right down to the bench) played horribly. I ended up with 60 points, less than half of what I had the week before with very similar players. haha
The worst part, I only lost by 9 points! The worst I’d ever scored was 80-something and when my opponent goes and scores 69, I only put up 60. It’s a shame! lol
The league I’m in is a Yahoo! Fantasy standard scoring.

Slaton being benched did me in
I lost by ten, and had Favre on the bench. Had I gotten over my Favre dislike I would have won and taken first in the division. : ( Still, things are looking up, I should have two easy wins, and I’m third in scoring, so I should be able to lock up a high playoff spot. Trying to swing Favre for depth at RB, would a trade Favre for Wells and Bradshaw be a good trade. My RB’s are D-Will, Moreno, Slaton, and Greene.

If you’ve no need for Favre, it could be beneficial.. The only negative is Bradshaw being on edge to break down at any minute as he continues to play with that foot injury. Wells is carrying the higher average per carry, but has only 1 touchdown to Hightower’s 5 on just a few less carries.
Depending on what Houston plans to do, I really like Ryan Moats but he has Slaton and Brown to contend with for carries. I’m big on match-ups, and Houston has some favorable ones for the second half of the season. I’ve dropped all running backs except for D-Will and Cedric Benson.

The guy I'm looking at trading with
has a wealth of depth at RB. Bradshaw seemed to have the best matchups, he also has Cadillac Williams, but I’m not a big fan of his. There are also a few other guys fighting for a playoff spot, including my brother, but they both have options at QB. I had Stewart, but dropped him for an “unfavorable” matchup vs Arizona. Picked up Greene instead, luckily I didn’t start him. : D
