Carolina Defense is getting tired
At the start of the season we lost our run stopper. We then tried to fill his roll with guys that are a good 50 pounds lighter than he was. After the first two games our defense started to get better. We got the help from Hollis Thomas and Tank Tyler after we acquired them from Free Agency and a trade from Kansas City,
The past two weeks our defense has gotten so much better. Last Sunday our defense held the bills to 39 yards in the first half. By the end of the game they held the team that should have been a blowout on paper to 167 total yards. While our offense racked up 425. Yet we only scored one TD and that was from D-Will. If they could have stayed away from the turnovers and by now everyone should know who was the mastermind behund 3 of them. We would have been able to win that game easily. Really you just have to add on the two missed fields goals from kasay and that 20-9 would have been36-6 based on the possibility that they scored on the touchdowns. I jusy read an article and the guy that wrote it siad that he thinks Jake the Snake 2 ( Of course Jake Plummer is the original) should start at Arizona. ARIZONA!!! The team that grabbed 5 of his passes out of the air and a fumble to beat us 33-7. I don't know about you but that game felt like the wind had been knocked right out of me. And now John Fox is "thinking" about benching Delhomme. When this offseason hits either Jake needs to go or both jake and John need to hit the road. We are probably foing to lose Pep and Smith will likely be so unhappy that he will want traded and If that happens then Double Trouble are going to have a tough time running the ball.

I’m seeing it now: Jake starts, has a miraculous game surprisingly to all of us, gets over this funk that he’s been in since the last card’s game, and we get back to our 08 form.
Straight up releasing Jake makes no sense.
The team would be on the hook for the guaranteed portion of his entire extension immediately, sinking the cap.
It makes far more sense to bench Jake now and have him as an insurance policy in case Moore or Feeley are worse than we ever imagined. He’s also a vital locker room leader, and a good mentor for younger players.

+1
I got a feeling redemption is on the way. Delhomme has struggled in the past and snapped out of it, see 1-7 start to 04.
But I’m still prepared to see Matt Moore out there.

I thought all the momentum would lead to Jake's benching, now...
…but Tom Sorenson’s column this AM makes some sense.

It’s kind of a concession if he’s benched now. I can see the team get up real high if they see this as his last stand. Stranger things have happened.
If he screws up again, the season’s finished, and he knows he’s through. Probably not much more to lose than what’s been lost already. I’d let him start, and see if he can redeem himself.
Respectfully disagree
He has had 6 attempts for atonement.
If i hit my head with a hammer 6 times, the 7th time is probably not going to feel any better.
But it would most likely finish the job
which is what a start against Zona will do for Jake if we get our @$$3$ handed to us again.
One time fluke
Second time bad luck
Third time trend
Fourth time problem needing correction
Fifth time serious issue
Sixth time predictable
Seventh time ???
The third, fourth, and fifth
he actually played well. So this is technically the fourth. ; )

Alright, considering how the season is going and our bleak outlook, I’ll go Hollywood movie and say we let Jake play against the team that ruined his career (at this point, I think it’s fairly safe to pin such on them for the game, even if it’s not entire true ;) ). Now he gets visited by three ghosts one night, they show him the way of the QB, he comes back, throws 10 touchdowns and everyone lives happily ever after.
Now, back to reality….
He could see the ghosts of INT's past this weekend
