Ok, so there isn’t any plan. We don’t have any control over the matchups. Yet it still seems like this weekend couldn’t have turned out any better for the Carolina Panthers. Some say the Panthers won the lottery. Both teams that were strong in the running game were eliminated. Now I’m not going to take anything away from the Cardinals. They’re a team with an exceptional offense. It’s just one-dimensional. They don’t have a running game. They’re a playoff team and they have the worst rushing offense in the NFL. Sure, Edge got 73 yards during the Falcons game. That’s probably going to be talked about all week. But where was that running game during the regular season? That’s the true question you have to ask. Can they do the same thing they did last night against the Panthers on Sunday night? Can they do it, being a team that has under 1000 yards rushing for the year? I’m not convinced they have their running game back. They’ll have to prove their running game on a grander stage before I can believe that. They’re going to have to beat the Panthers though the air, a task not easy due to a stout backfield. The Panthers have one of the best trio of linebackers in the league, three starting corners, and a couple of young safeties with long careers in front of them. We’re also going to play the Cards at home with a stadium that sold off all their affordable tickets in 30 minutes. Expect to hear a lot of crowd noise. In addition, the Cards have lost Anquan Boldin and we’re not sure if he’s going to be able to play against us. I’ll update the article as soon as more information becomes available. The Las Vegas gambling rings have the Panthers as a 9.5 point favorite. Probably a bit much, but you can’t complain that much when its your team. I expect this to be very high scoring game, past 40 points combined for both teams.
