NFL Saturday Wildcard Games Open Thread
Welcome CSR readers to the Saturday Wildcard Games open thread. First up is the Panther division rival Falcons traveling to Arizona to meet the Cardinals. Little King has done a good job previewing the three possible opponents for the Panthers including both the Cardinals and Falcons who could travel to Charlotte depending on the outcome the Eagles-Vilings game tomorrow. The prevailing wisdom is that several home teams could be in trouble this weekend, possibly all of them. I don;t buy that completely but in the case of this early game I think so.
Falcons vs Cardinals
Everything points towards a Falcons victory but for some reason I see the Cardinals pulling it together. The Cardinals are due some magic and the fact they are home I think will determine the outsome. Remember the big home win against the Cowboys. The perfect scenario for the Panthers in my view is for the Cardinals and Eagles to win. Cardinals by 4
Colts vs. Chargers
I think the Colts have all the momentum and the fact the Chargers are 0-5 against playoff teams does spell the road victory for the Colts. With Bob Sanders returning for the Colts I think that fires up their defense similar to his return the year the Colts won the Super Bowl. Colts by 7

Playing beyond expectations.

I was suprised here.
The offense of the Cardinals are truly unbeatable in the passing game. The running game has done just enough to make the fakeouts to the running back work. I still think that eventually the lack of a running game will catch up to them, but the Falcons need to get better pass rush.

We do need a better pass rush
I’m hoping we get one. We also need to—and I love this guy—throw Keith Brooking out at last. That non-coverage of Steven Spach was indefensible.
