0.0 - Delhomme's Passer Rating on Third Down

Y0u read that right it's n0t a typ0, can't get w0rse than that 0n third d0wn. His 0verall passer rating was 39.1, his w0rst in play0ffs. While this wasn't his l0west passer rating it pretty much was his w0rst day ever and he pick a hell 0f a day t0 have it. That was s0mething awful and I have very few w0rds t0 describe this game. I've had a chance t0 sleep and thus d0n't have the blind rage against the team, and specifically Jake, that I did last night. Yet I'm ab0ut ready t0 jump 0ff the Delh0mme bandwag0n at this p0int, alth0ugh it was m0re 0f a Radio Flyer Wagon. Yet now it's pretty much a small ledge.

When thinking about the game this morning there's plenty of blame to go around. The game plan was horrible and why abandon the running game so early. I know we where down in the first half, but how did the Gaints get back into our game against them. They didn't abandon their fundamental. There is also plenty of blame on our D, but when they're on the field that much it become hard to put so much blame on them. Granted better coverage of Fitz would have been nice.

The major turning point was that 2nd turnover after driving the field and getting the Arizona's 14 yard line. From that point on the team just lost focus, the defense provided two first downs to Arizona and gave them a 17-7 lead once they kick their field goal. After that it just got ugly.

After driving into Charlotte from about 1 1/2 hours away, we arrived a bit later than expected at the stadium due to increased traffic and the number of fans pilling into the stadium. We arrived at the gate 20 minutes before kickoff and found our seats about minutes before kickoff. The crowd was pumped and ready for action. Everyone was on their feet and nobody sat down until 6:22 left in the 1st quarter. And that's where the highlights end. The weather wasn't a factor, although there was rain on and off, but mostly just light sprinkles. I don't think it looked better in person than it did on TV; it was just a poor performance. We did stay the whole game, but the stadium started to empty at the beginning of the fourth quarter and after the last turnover very few remained. It was a long drive back home. At one point in the 3rd quarter while in the restroom, someone made a comment that it's pretty sad that it was more entertaining in the bathroom than on the field.

I'm glad I had the chance to go, but wish we had the win. We have plenty of time to review the game, but I think most want to look ahead to next year already.
