Colts vs. Panthers Game Day Thread
Indianapolis Colts at Carolina Panthers, Aug 9, 2008 7:30 PM EDT
Are you ready for some football?
The Panthers kick off the preseason tonight at home against AFC powerhouse Indianapolis Colts. The Panthers finally get to pound on someone else besides a teammate and I'm sure they are chomping at the bit.
Of course who's going to actually play for the Panthers is up in the air.
On if quarterback Jake Delhomme will play versus the Colts: All personnel moves are game-time decisions. I'll just leave it at that.
So we can forget about predicting game match-ups. I'm expecting Jake to play at least a couple series and I also expect a good look at our running game. I expect to see very little of Steve Smith and anyone nursing injuries, like Jon Beason. I'm looking ofrward to extended playing time for QB Matt Moore and WR Dwayne Jarrett.
One star who is going to play is Colts WR Marvin Harrison. If you want to see what Colts fans are saying you can check it our over at Stampede Blue.
So, is everybody fired up for the season!

Game number -4
Football? Already? Man, I get so sick of how quick the off-seasons are. It’s like we just had the Super Bowl, and already we’re having football shoved down our throats again.
I just watch it for the commercials, anyway.
YAAAAARGH! Football! Game time! Kickoff! Wrap up with both hands!!!

You had me wondering there for a minute
You’re being facetious. You love this shit as much if not more than me. I’m looking forward to your thoughts on the game.

D-Will gittin it dun
D-Will is amazing. When you give a 5 yards a carry back a better offensive line, he gets more yards. Many people talk about his small size, but he hits people. Chasing him around before getting hit by J-Stew is no fun at all for opposing defenses.
So am I the only one who kind of hopes we get to see some Matt Moore during the regular season, too? If Jake doesn’t blow the doors off this season, there will be a QB competition next spring. But, of course, a SB MVP for Jake would have the opposite effect.

D-Will reminds me of Emmitt Smith
He darts and cuts, he looked great against the Colts.

The pass rush is back
at least for this one game. The defense showed a lot of different looks, bringing blitzes from different spots. Lookin good!
