J- Stew
Hey. Does anybody have any information on Jonathan Stewart? Where he is in his recovery from toe surgery. Whether he is practicing and if he isn't, when is he expected to come back?
I really haven't seen much information on the situation on here and am just curious to get a little more. Just as a Oregon Duck fan I am curious as to see how he is going to fit into this team, and also what all you panther fans think of him.

Hmm...
I think this blog has done a pretty decent job covering Stewart (To the point of becoming a fan of the blog and an NFL team).
The fact that he was making some noise in Practice hints to me that Snoop is doing just fine in recovery.

Is "Snoop" an Oregon nickname?
We’ve started calling him J-Stew but that is obvious. If so, where did Snoop come from?
His toe is fine and he is practicing in the morning but has skipped some afternoon workouts. He has already impressed with his stiff arm and short yardage ability. He is also starting to take some kick off returns in practice. The official word is that he will get kick off return duty to start the season so we’re excited about that. We’re excited all around about this guy.

Yup.
J-Stew is common, but all his teammates, even going back to high school nicknamed him Snoop. After a great carry by Stewart, you could hear Autzen stadium all scream “Snoop!” – probably needless to say, it was said often.
Possible fanshot item, but here is a recruiting tactic Oregon did for one year – they made comic books about their top 20 recruits, and how they would be the hero. It was promptly banned as a recruiting tactic/tool the next year. Here is the entire Stewart comic:
