Online game: Goal Line Blitz

Like many of you folks, I like my football. I mean, if you're reading this in the middle of May when there is literally nothing happening in the football world, then you clearly are an obsessed fool like myself.

I also like football video games, and I played the heck out of the NFL 2K series (RIP). One of my favorite things to do was to load up the Season mode, and play through a half-dozen seasons or more with a team, until most of the squad were players I'd drafted. Nothing quite like watching your own players progress.

Well, there's now an online game that has that same quality. It's called Goal Line Blitz and lets you create players, own teams (or be the GM, or O- or D-Coordinators), and develop the players over the course of month-long seasons. I've only been playing for a couple of weeks, but I'm constantly amazed at the depth and complexity of what is a simple online game.

Feel free to try it out. If you don't like it, you won't hurt my feelings a bit. But if you, as I do, think it's a smart take on football sims, then make a player for this Panthers-related team, where I've got a 2nd-string Guard. Or just drop me a line. Either way.

Oh, yeah.

I should also note, I’m not affiliated with this site at all, I just like it. And I don’t get anything much by referring folks, just the chance to maybe create another player. So, ah, I guess what I’m saying is that this isn’t really an ‘ad’, and I’m not compensated, I just think it’s cool.

So…. yeah. That’s about it.

Someone lese mentioned this game

I wasn’t sure what to make of it (spam?) so I sent an email out to the network to see what everyone else thought (You wouldn’t believe the resources I have available). The reviews came back positive as several other SBN bloggers play it too. I may try it sometime if I have time.

I play it,

its pretty neat with not much other football going around…good to kill alittle time, doesn’t take much time each day. really depends on getting a good team whether you have fun or not. I wish i had seen this team earlier, i would’ve tried to join..right now i’m on a team full of longhorn and aggie fans. http://goallineblitz.com/game/player.pl?player_id=128257 and i think the rules are changing where i can’t join your league
