Falcons to Sign Former Panther DT Moorehead
The word on the street is the Falcons are reeling in Panther reserve DT Kindall Moorehead.
Panthers free agent DT Kindal Moorehead won't be back, agreeing Thursday to a two-year deal with the Atlanta Falcons.
He's been a key reserve here for five years, but they're retooling the line, and he will apparently have a chance to compete for a starting job there.
According to a source with knowledge of the situation, Moorehead's heading to Atlanta today to take a physical, the only thing between him and the deal. It should be finalized by the weekend.
Moorehead has been a good back-up for the Panthers for four years. With Jenkins gone I would have thought he would be competing for a starting job in Carolina but I guess he didn't feel that way.
This is another sign the Panthers will target a DT in the early rounds.

Panthers Entertain Free agent Linebacker
If reserve LB Adam Seward bolts to New England then the Panthers will have a need for a back-up LB.
Johnson (6-2, 232 pounds) started all 32 games the past two seasons for the Bengals and had over 100 tackles each season.
He has played all three linebacker positions, but is probably best suited to play outside.
Johnson is the most highly-rated free agent known to have visited the Panthers so far.
A 100 tackles is nothing to sneeze at. He could challenge Diggs at weakside or just be quality relief.
