Panther Notes & Quotes Christmas Edition
Count Me In: RB DeAngelo Williams for MVP:
Williams leads the NFL with 20 touchdowns and ranks fourth in rushing with 1,337 yards. His 5.4 yards-per-carry average is second in the league among the top 40 rushers.
Plus he has zero fumbles and is one shy of the record for TD's runs of 30 yards or longer. I think it would say a lot for D-Will to win MVP yet not getting voted to the Pro Bowl.

Apparently Williams is not letting go of Smash-n-Dash:
"There is something I will announce at the end of the regular season pertaining to one "Smash & Dash," he said. "I can't give you more than that. So after the regular season, I'll have some really good stuff for you guys - really good.
"Smash & Dash, oh yeah. It's just a little something I've been working on in the lab."
In the lab D-Will? Is he concocting something new or continuing his beef with LenDale White? I can't wait.

A Christmas Wish
In the same post D-Will wants a present we all are hoping for:
When asked what gifts he wants to receive, Williams said "a win on Sunday (at New Orleans), a first-round (playoff) bye and to get all the (players) who are banged up a little bit healthy."
I can second that one. Going into the playoffs on a 2 game losing streak is not preferred.

Williams Big Season Partly Mental
It is obvious RB DeAngelo Williams is stronger and faster this season but he also credits his mental preparation:
"I knew what was happening on the field. I didn't know why it was happening on the field," Williams said. "I didn't understand concepts. Coming into this year I made it a point of understanding concepts. Now I know why that safety comes down. Now I know if they bring two off the front side that they have to drop at least one back side. I know these things. I know concepts, concepts of blitzes. It gives me an edge now."
That safety is coming down to keep you from torching the defense for a big gain! I still find it hard to believe that it was Vinnie Testaverde that gave the kid the advice he needed to hear. Maybe the Panthers should contact Vinnie about being some kind of low level coach or trainer.

Bio on DT J'Vonne Parker
Honestly there is very little out there on this guy. He is a big boy for sure, 6-4 325 lbs which is what we need. If he can keep from getting abused that would be great and all I ask. He's got the chance of a lifetime to make an impression and get a serious look for next season. Who knows, he might ends playing in the playoffs if Kemo and Lewis remain sidelined.

What Kemo Means
We've been beating this topic pretty well but here's a little more.
"Kemo's a great force to have in the middle," Diggs added. "He definitely demands the attention of the line to block most of the time. A lot of times, you can't just single him, and that frees a lot of things up for a defense.
"He's one of those guys that you've got to have in front of you."
Decent post though it doesn't really cover any new ground. We really need 2 guys up front that have to be doubled. Then it leaves RB or TE to double on Peppers.

It's on now....
The battle of the Smashes and Dashes. Wouldn’t it be a dream SB matchup if Williams/Stewart went up against the speedy rookie and White for the title of being called Smash and Dash?
That would be sweet.
