CSR Fantasy League Semi-Final Playoffs Update

Csr_fantasy_results_08_semis_medium

In a very disappointing performance the Cardiac Cats (Jaxon) fell to the B-Burg Beaners (lj1983) 115-74. The Cats tried the nitro pills, a defibrillator and plain old fashion mouth-to-mouth but nothing could resuscitate their season. The Beaners rode the back of QB Thigpen (29.3 pts), TE Gates (16) and the Titans D (36) where those 3 combined outscored the Cats. The Cats were crippled due to the injuries to RB's Barber and Gore and poor performances from QB McNabb and WR Berrian. Rumor is McNabb will be given his unconditional release as he was seen carrying a box a Chunky Soup from the locker room.

Star-divide

In the other semi-final the Agents of Matriculation (JaTuck) grounded the Danube Fairy Queens (r3) 101 to 86. The Agents benefited from a season-high performance by WR Colston (23) and double figure performances from 4 other starters. The Queens got a nice performance from QB Pennington (23.55) and WR Wayne (18.8) but little else from the remainder of the line-up, who were without RB's LT and Grant who sat out in protest of the passing of Prop 8. LT and Grant joined the King of Danube in a traditional fairy dance outside the stadium as they burned Terminator action figure dolls in defiance.

Championship Preview

#3 Agents of Matriculation vs. #1 B-Burg Beaners

Csr_ffl_08_champ_preview_mediumThis match-up represents the perfect contrast in fantasy team building philosophy. The #1 Beaners used a line-up of 3 draftees (AP, T. Jones, Smitty, Bowe, Gates) and 3 pick-ups to reach the final game giving major credence to the notion you win with a superior draft.

The agents on the other hand only used 2 draft picks (Colston, Vikings) for their winning combination showing that diligent waiver wire work can be equally effective. I have to give him props for the Slaton, Shaun Hill and A. Bryant pick-ups that have played well in recent games.

As I look at this the Championship match-ups I have to give the nod to the Beaners who have the better team and the better week 17 match-ups.

Don't feel too bad Jaxon

I was another guy that got my fantasy championship hopes destroyed by the friggen Titans defense.
