Panthers Beason Discusses DT Injuries:Added Beason: "I think we missed (Kemoeatu), but I'm impressed with how guys stepped up. Nick Hayden played well. Gibby (Gibson) played well with one hand. I think for the most part, in base (formations), we did well. It was really the runs against the nickel (formation), where Maake is out on the field. I was proud of those guys."
If true then when in the nickel the Panthers play a 3-3-5 versus the 4-2-5 many other teams use. It's really no wonder that the Panthers got blitzed with the run at the end of the game. They had one true DT left to play.

I brought this up because
I see the 3-3-5 defense as an option in Madden but it always gets toasted. I never play it but maybe I’ll have to give it another try.
Also, apparently Gibson played with the hurt hand, hurt bd enough to end his season. The kid toughed it out.
