Delhomme Kudos from John Madden

In what may be the biggest regular season game in quite a few years, John Madden had quite a bit of a compliment to give to Jake.

"He's the ultimate team and he is a tough guy. He just does all of the right things and says all of the right things. He knows how to play but for some reason he's never gotten the credit he deserves."

"I just go back to the Super Bowl a couple of years ago and Jake matched everything - everything the Patriots did he came right back again and if he got the ball again I thought the Panthers would have won the Super Bowl."

"He never gets thought about when you talk about your Tom Bradys and your Peyton Mannings and Eli Mannings and all of your Super Bowl quarterbacks. I am not saying he's up there with Tom Brady and Peytan Manning. But he's pretty doggone good."

-John Madden ((Charlotte Observer.))

John Madden has also thinks one of the keys to the game is how the Panthers use Steve Smith, what countermeasures the Giants employ to stop him, and how the Panthers react and exploit those countermeasures.

Its about time

I can’t stand all tha Jake haters. People think stats are all that matters. But Jake has a better record than all of the big name QBs this year. Breeze couldn’t even make the post season. Jake has all the qualities that stats don’t measure… signal calling, motivating teammates, staying poised in big situations, 4th quarter comebacks, etc. Fox wants to run the ball, and have a rallying leader behind center. That’s what Jake is… he is perfect for this team.

And he's amazingly good at throwing into double/triple coverage

only behind Favre in that category. :)

I agree, Jake is a great QB for this team. Of course, it’d be nice if he could avoid some of the stupid ints when trying to force it in, but other than that…

I'm learning to appreciate how well he throws downfield

After watching Tavaris Jackson miss his downfield receivers so much it made realize how often Jake makes those plays.

Jake doesn’t get much credit for how accrurate he can be at times. He has had his off games but more often than not he has a good game.
