The Panthers Offensive Keys to the Game

With the Panthers heading to Raidernation this week, let's take a look at the top 5 matchups in the game.

1. DeAngelo Williams vs Raiders D-Line

DeAngelo Williams is at a disadvantage this week in not having bruiser backup Jonathan Stewart to get his back when he's tired. So this week he will probably be an every down back unless John Fox decided to whip out Brad Hoover for goal line situations. However, Williams should still dominate and have at last one 20+ yard touchdown run against a run defense that ranked 30th in the league for rushing yards allowed a game.

2. Muhsin Muhammad vs Stanford Routt

I listed this matchup above Steve Smith because Nnamdi is a pretty good corner. He'll give Steve that initial bump to slow him down, a advantage that former backup Stanfort Routt will be unable to have because he'd end up on the ground. With the usual double teams that Steve Smith faces, Moose should get open early and often against this matchup created by cutting Diangelo Hall last week.

3. Steve Smith vs

Nnamdi Asomugha

Yet you still have to remember that Steve Smith is a beast. I mean really, who is denying that Steve Smith is the best receiver on our roster? He'll outrun you the first chance he gets, he can cut on a dime, he can run good routes and deliver excellent hits for his size. But then again, Asomugha is good talent too. He's quick and can react on instincts alone, and he's fast enough that no one can really create anymore seperation than what they get after the cut in their route. Throw to Smith when he's open this game, but I expect a lot more balls to go to Moose and the TE's this game.

4. Jeff Otah/Ryan Kalil vs Raiders D-Line

Jeff Otah and Ryan Kalil have only played in 9 out of 16 games between the both of them, and this will both be a test of their abilities. We had a patchwork defensive line these last few weeks, and they have played especially well without them. As Panther fans, we expect a great game from them. We should force them to blitz their linebackers in order to open up the passing game a little more.

5. Jeff King/Rosario vs Raiders Linebackers

With the linebackers blitzing a bunch go make up for a lack of front 4 pass rush, it will open things up in the middle. Neither one of these TE's have emerged to another Wesley Walls that our fans beg and crave for, but Dante Rosario has the potential. I really hope for him to have a big game. He's been silent the past 3 weeks and we all know that he needs to make some catches when the Panthers come out with the two TE sets. I want him to come out swinging and get a TD or two.

Jakes Picks

On these deep balls that got picked was the WR getting knocked off their route or was it just a bad pass?
