Around SBN: Explaining Jeremy Lin's Early, Surprising Success

RB Jonathan Stewart was nominated for his fourth time this season for rookie of the week. However, so far he hasn't ever won.
Stewart rushed for 130 yards and a touchdown on 15 attempts in the Panthers' 31-22 victory over the Detroit Lions.

The other week 11 nominees are:
-Dustin Keller, TE, New York Jets
-Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie, CB, Arizona Cardinals
-Spencer Larsen, FB/LB, Denver Broncos
-Steve Slaton, RB, Houston Texans

Jonathan Stewart...

…had a tremendous game, but don’t be surprised if Spencer Larsen gets it. Larsen was a starter on offense, defense, and special teams. No one has played both ways in years, let alone a rookie, and Larsen played three ways. He was very good in all phases.

He had read the inscription on the gates of Busyrane–‘Be bold’; and on the second gate–‘Be bold, be bold, and evermore be bold’; and then again had paused well at the third gate–‘but not too bold.’" RW Emerson

If not this week...

…you have to assume he will get it before the year is over. Despite a small slump before this game he has been solid. I can see him being productive the rest of the year and bringing in that rookie of the week award sooner rather than later.

Steve Slaton

Honorable mention for Larson, but come on guys, be reasonable:

156 yards and 1 td on 14 attempts

Larson or Slaton

While I did vote for Stewart, I agree it will probably go to one of these guys. Most likely Larson as Bradley said because of starting on both sides of the ball. That is quite impressive.
