Panthers Outlast Falcons
The Atlanta Falcons played well enough to win but in the end they couldn't contain DeShaun Fosters' running nor DeAngelo Hall's mouth. Foster seemed to get stronger as the game wore on with a 10 yard burst for a TD at the end of the 3rd quarter that sealed it.
The offense played pretty well and overcame the loss of Jake Delhomme to an elbow injury. David Carr came in and secured the final two drives for the victory.
The defense was lead by an outstanding performance from Thomas Davis who played like the Panther faithful had been waiting for. Dan Morgan left with a shoulder injury in the first half but returned later.
Special teams didn't play well but at least didn't lose the game. Overall I'm satisfied with the performance. Any one else agree?

Smith's presence
I am becoming more and more convinced that Steve Smith is the only reason this team ever wins a game. Only 10 yards and he still won it for us. His jabbering with Deangelo Hall got things very heated. But most players cannot focus their anger the way Steve does. They were both talking smack, both taking cheap shots at each other. But Smith took it just far enough to where Hall lost his temper. Smith at that point gathered his composure and backed off, leaving Hall yelling at the refs and himself as the innocent victim. Genius! 65+ yards, and Deshaun handled the little that was left.
