Turkey Day Open Thread

I just finished watching the Packers hold off the Lions and thought I'd see if there was anyone out there who had something to say about the Panthers. Brett Favre is having an incredable year, I never saw it coming. But I do see this: a waxing of the Jets by the Cowboys. I'll check in from time to time if anyone wants to bitch about the Panthers. You know I'll jump in for sure.

=============

John Fox was very straight forward in naming his starter for the Saints game:

We make decisions based on who gives us the best chance," Fox said. "It's not always money. It's not always what round (he's drafted). We make those decisions not based on any polls from the outside. It's just based on who we think gives us the best chance. Right now we think that's Vinny.

I think that does say a lot about David Carr even though he has suffered injuries. Word is Carr has lost the confidence of his team mates. I'm not sure if that is just a few vocal individuals or represents the sentimate of the team.

With the Falcons playing the Colts we have to hope the Redskins are pissed about their loss last week to the 'Boys. If we want to gain a game on the Bucs.

Happy Thanksgiving !

Pointed remarks

Those were pretty pointed remarks, unquestionably aimed at (or at least about) Carr.  I feel sorry for Carr, but he has apparently blown a golden opportunity to redeem himself.  After following him for 5 years in Houston, it is a real puzzle.  I thought he would really blossom if he got the chance for a fresh start.

After another loss or two, even if VT got hurt, Moore would probably get the call.  I think Carr is finished here.

As I suggested earlier, while he is still healthy and young:  "David, take the money and run! You have dignity and class, with no need or desire to prance around on the field and make a fool of yourself like so many of the other players.  You have a life off the field with a great family.  Quit the game.  You don't need this."

Carr may not be done yet
There's no way Vinny stays healthy more than a couple games. When he does get hurt, I think Fox will play Carr hoping he performs not only for the sake of the season but for his job. He will play Carr and cross his fingers because otherwise he and GM Marty Hurney will look like idiots for signing him to such a large contract and passing on a QB in the draft.
