Panthers vs. Packers: Game Day Open Thread

I just heard this on ESPN "Brett Favre will be too much for that Carolina secondary."  I can’t really argue with that statement but at the same time as a Panther fan it pisses me off. This Packer team is only two seasons removed from 4-12 (8-8 last year). They are having the type of season Panther fans were envisioning. Sure, we have reason to be down on the season, but it is not too late. Getting back to 5-5 shines a whole new light on the season.

It’s time for this team to rally. Doing it without Steve Smith will make it that much more meaningful. The Packers are prime for a let down, especially if they put up a quick score.

I'll be here for the game. Be sure to at least check in at halftime for my second half poll.

Go Panthers!

Finally

I'm finally getting to watch a Panthers game on TV... it's been like 3 years or something (stupid FOX not showing the Panthers in Utah). Unfortunately, the team is starting Vinny T, is without Steve Smith, and are playing the red-hot Packers in Green Bay. Great.

Nice Start: INT

Geez, talk about sucking on third down? He throws a pick. Well, here's the quick Packer TD scenario I suggested.

Peppers Blocks FG!

The big guy is pissed (I hope). We need some more of that!

Another Special Teams Letdown

How long can this go on? We pooch kick instead of straight up punt and then give up the return TD? John Fox-Jeff Davidson what are you doing?

FG for Real This Time

The bog play was a nice catch by Drew Carter for 46 yards. Sweet!

Colbert 3rd Down Drop
He was having a good game up to that point. Another punt. Panthers are hanging in there with tough D, preventing the run and are getting some pressure on Favre.

Halftime Report

Panthers can't convert on 3rd down. Favre is taking what we give him. It will take a miracle.

Panther Offense finally gets a TD

Christain Fauria does the honors and over celebrates a little. We're still down by 18.

Offense Showing Life

TD Drew Carter! I asked who was going to step up and it has been Drew. Very nice game.
