The Carolina Panthers just pulled out a spectacular victory over of the New Orlean Saints on a 53 yd field goal by John Kasay on the games final play.
Key Performances:
- David Carr came back from injury in the first half to drive the Panthers to 10 points for the victory. Though he wasn't flashy he made the plays he had to.
- Julius Peppers blocked a field goal, batted down a pass and made 6 tackles. He harassed both Reggie Bush and Drew Brees throughout the day.
- Keary Colbert had four big catches, including two 3rd down conversions. He made a huge impact.
- Richard Marshall and Chris Harris both intercepted passes to stop Saint drives. The Panther defense finally made some plays.
- Jon Beason starts at MLB and puts up 15 tackles. That draft pick is looking real good now.
- Steve Smith gets untracked for a TD and key yards afer the catch on a reception on the final drive. He got Kasay close enough for the try.
- John Kasay walks up and nails a 53 yarder to win it. It's nice having a clutch kicker!

They Have the Talent
Today they played with hart. I believe that talent wise, they are every bit as good if not better as the 2003. PANTHER'S.
In 2003 the Panthers fought and clawed their way to enough wins to go to the Super Bowl. They played as a team. They never Quit. They had Pride. They Played to win. John Kasay kicked 3 or 4 game winning field goals that year to get them to the play-off's.
The Panther's have twelve weeks to fine tune and tweak their talent. However they need the attitude and hart they brought to the field today. Each and every one of those twelve weeks. Now that we know they have it, There is no excuse.. "just do it" (wink).
