Quarterback Controversy? Y?

At the proverbial water cooler last week I heard some bashing about Jake Delhomme and I feel like its unfair.  I have been a Panthers fan since my time in college at UNCC 7 years ago.  In that time I have never heard any contentment of our fans on behalf of our quarterbacks (Most ridiculously Jake Delhomme).  I realize that everyone wants to have a Brett Favre for his entire career here at Carolina but our fans and our sports writers need to give a little credit where it is due.

In recent history JD has led our team to a SuperBowl and an NFC championship game.  A year ago you could not have said as much about Payton Manning.  The same can be said of touted QBs like Carson Palmer and even the Great Brett Favre hasn't made it so far in recent history.

Take a look at Jake's QB rating for example: In 2007 he was off to a great start, so far his rating is 111.9 which ranks 3rd best for starters in the league (ahead of the likes of Payton Manning and Donovan McNabb).  In 2004, 2005, and 2006 he was 12th among starters in QB rating.  12th isn't amazing I understand and I also understand how people can want more, the grass is always greener, but hey lets put some blame on our O'line and our Defense for our failures over the last few loses.

Last stat! Since 1996 with Jake we are 35W-26L (57% career win percentage with Panthers) with a Postseason record of 5W-2L and with all other QBs we have had  a combined 35W-64L (35% win percentage) with NO! postseason appearances.

Lets get some hard-hitting, ball hawking safety's and lets get some consistent running help from our O'Line.
