Panthers Fox Will Remain Mum on QB Decision
The AP reports John Fox hasn’t had much to say to the media this week. I have to assume he is dreading the anticipated onslaught to come from playing the defending champs.
Carr never walked through the locker room during the media's availability period. He said last week he thought he would be healthy enough to play against the Colts.
Fox, always looking for the slightest competitive advantage, hasn't named a starter and didn't speak to reporters Monday. Players insisted they didn't know which way Fox was leaning.
Maybe T Jordan Gross knows. Being a starting offensive linemen he will need to adjust his technique based on the QB selected:
"Don't ask me," tackle Jordan Gross said. "My wife asked me and I said, 'I don't know. I'll tell you Sunday at 1.' "
Only a starting RT in the NFL could get away with that. My wife would call BS on that in a skinny minute. She has her ways!
So ‘Ol Foxy is still playing it close to the vest, no surprise there. It’s still early in the week. There is no rush at this point until we see how Carr holds up in practice. We’ll have a better idea on Friday afternoon. There’s even a chance we won’t know until Sunday morning.
What I am surprised about is that the Panther players are providing good cover for Fox this early in the week. Vinny Testaverde is towing the line on playing second fiddle to Carr for now. Carr is doing his best to sound poised and confident. They have been pretty quite over the bye week for the most part.
I think this team knows that it has benefited from an easy schedule and has yet to defeat a team of playoff caliber. The defending champ Colts presents an opportunity to validate the 4-2 record. With the Colts possibly overlooking the Panthers in anticipation of next weeks showdown with the Patriots, the Panthers could finally break their home losing streak and make a huge statement. Just don’t expect any type of definitive QB statement from John Fox until Saturday.

Carr's record against the Colts

good stuff
This is a big deal. I read on foxsports that Foxy stated Carr will start if healthy. He faced these guys twice a year. In another post, I stated Vinny should start, but if Carr has a history of success against them, then go for it. I have changed my mind, and since I'm not getting paid for my football thoughts, there are no consequences for my flip-floppong like a presidential candidate.
